Overview of Albums on Grindr
An Album is essentially a private collection that can include up to 10 photos and a video.
The main purpose of Albums is to provide a useful and convenient way for people to enjoy and share their photos.
Photos placed within the album cannot be“screenshotted” because they are covered by limited privacy permissions (read How to bypass screenshot blocking on Grindr albums?).
How to create a protected album on Grindr
To create an album, simply open the sidebar and click on “My Albums” then add a name to the album and photos/videos to be placed inside.
Stop sharing the album on Grindr
Once you share an Album with someone, they will have access to view all of its contents.
However, you can stop sharing the album by simply re-tapping the eponymous icon.
The user touched the photo in your album.
When the notification“X touched the photo in your album” appears, it means that the user has left a reaction to one of the photos within your album.
Functionality and Key Features
The main features of Albums are:
- Adding Photos to an Album: Users can add photos to an Album by tapping on their profile photo, accessing the “My Albums” section and selecting the desired Album for editing. Photos can be selected from the device or from photos previously uploaded to chat.
- Adding Videos: Each Album can contain one video, with a limit of 15 seconds and a file size of less than 30 MB.
- Deleting an Album: You can delete an Album by accessing the edit menu, selecting“Delete Album” and confirming the deletion.
- Maximum Album Access: Albums are shared via chat, and users can share their Album with up to 5,000 people.
Album Management and Navigation
- Reorder Photos and Videos: You can reorder photos and videos within an Album by long-pressing and dragging items to a new location.
- Navigation: You can navigate within an Album by tapping the left or right side, as with Instagram stories.
Subscription Levels and Album Access
Grindr offers different features based on subscription levels:
- Free Version: Users can create and share an Album, access the 5 most recent Albums shared with them, and watch a video once.
- XTRA or Unlimited Subs cription: Subscribers can create and share up to 10 Albums, access all Albums shared with them, and watch videos an unlimited number of times.
